Postby webber1 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 2:18 pm

Is it possible to identify in Omniture (Adobe Analytics) visitors who interact with the website via multiple devices such as mobile, laptop, tablet, etc..?

Identifying visitors coming to your website from different devices is a great feature to have to develop meaningful insights into customers' journey and how they interact and convert. Yet it is quite challenging because the identifier is often hard to establish.

The most straight forward scenario to identify cross-device visitors is when a website/app requires authentication. Whereby, when a prospect/customer visits the website and authenticates for the first time on each device, the s.visitorID variable is assigned the user ID. Afterwards, all visits coming from any of the devices associated to the s.visitorID will be accredited to the same visitor. This is called visitors stitching.
